LiveWhere (livewhere.co.uk) is a free cost of living comparison tool for the UK. We are not a financial services company and do not provide financial advice.
What data we collect
We do not collect any personal data directly. We do not require registration, logins, or any form of user account. We do not store any information you enter into our calculators or comparison tools - all calculations happen in your browser.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how people use the site. This collects anonymous usage data including pages visited, time on site, approximate location (country/city level), device type, and browser. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual users. Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish unique visitors - see the Cookies section below.
Cookies
LiveWhere uses a minimal number of cookies:
- Google Analytics (
_ga,_ga_[ID]) - these are analytics cookies used to distinguish unique visitors and track site usage. They expire after 2 years. They do not contain any personal information. - Cookie consent (
livewhere_cookies_accepted) - records your choice on the cookie banner so it isn't shown again. Expires after 365 days.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or any third-party cookies beyond Google Analytics.
Third-party services
- Google Analytics (analytics data processing) - Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- Google Fonts (font delivery) - fonts are loaded from Google's CDN. Google's privacy policy applies.
- Leaflet / CartoDB (map tiles on the affordability map page) - loaded from external CDN.
Your rights
You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. You can also use browser extensions to block Google Analytics. Disabling cookies will not affect the functionality of the site.

The cost of living data displayed on this site comes from official UK government sources published under the Open Government Licence. Full details of our data sources are available on our About page.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
